Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Welcome to second grade! We've finished up our first three days of school,and I hope your son or daughter has enjoyed it as much as I have. We have started our Saxon phonics program, and you should have seen some homework come home today. It's pretty quick and easy, but it's important to get in a good habit of finishing homework every day. Students should have also brought a spelling list home today. Please practice these words every day. You could practice orally, written on a piece of paper, scratched into a thin pile of flour/sugar, or any other way you can think of. Please sign the list and send it back to school on Friday with the reading calendar for an OWL ticket.

We have also jumped right into our math program. We're starting off with adding 0, 1, and 2. You may see some homework come home in math, too. Mostly it will just be any classwork that your child wasn't able to finish in class.
